If you've been with us from our early days in late 2013, you'll know that we've always carved our own path, been true to our values and not been afraid to change things up - we've always trusted our instincts.
We've all had to adapt our personal, working and business lives over recent months and the temporary pause we've encountered has given us time to reflect and respond as to what could be next..
Since late March, we've seen a huge surge in our online order sales, (thank you so much), and with the introduction in April of our local indoor plant delivery service, I've been able to continue running this biz from home whilst home-schooling my primary aged kids. Due to popular demand, we are extending our offering to UK plant deliveries plus we continue to bring you a mix of unisex clothing and accessories by smaller, independent, mindful brands.
At this time however, we won't be re-opening the bricks and mortar arm of Colony on Totnes high Street, it is what we must currently do to work for us right now.
I am in no doubt that the amazing independent shop community re-opening their doors on June 15th will face challenges, BUT business owners and their teams are strong, resilient and creative and they, and their businesses will thrive and survive.
There is so much that we are going to miss about owning a bricks and mortar retail space. 'Social retail' is a biggie for us; forming friendships, being part of a caring and supportive community and curating a space that isn't just about selling 'things' but bringing and discussing decent brands creating decent, long-lasting products.
it is so important that we all continue to support and use small business - these/us guys, whether in a physical or online capacity are the ones who work bloody hard to bring the interest, consideration and personality to consumerism.
So, it's not goodbye from us, just TTFN. We will absolutely be 'popping up' physically in some form in the future, but in the meantime - thank you, thank you for the joy.
